Over the past years we’ve done some experimenting and made some improvements to our tutorial. Here is a brief summary:
- The final landscape will now be usable with either Condor 2 or 3.
- Runway appearance is much improved by use of the actual surface imagery.
- The area around the airport is done at much higher resolution. In our older landscapes resolution was limited to about 2.8 meters/pixel. We now go to a resolution of .35 meters/pixel. You can see the dashed lines dividing a highway.
- We’ve done better integration of public terrain data. This results in a more realistic thermal map and also a forest map that covers the entire landscape.
